Uniform Dress Code Policy
The purpose of our uniform policy has always been to help students accept responsibility for modesty and good grooming; to take pride in their appearance; and to represent our school in a manner of which we can all be proud. I know I can count on all students and families to help us continue this tradition.
The uniform policy was last updated in in 2017 in response to many parent and student requests.
We will be forming a committee this year to once again review and perhaps update the policy. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please e-mail Mrs. Mantelli with the subject line “uniform committee.”
Below is our current uniform policy. Please ensure that your children are in complete compliance with the policy. Everyone has had enough time to obtain the proper uniform components.
Stitchworks <https://stitchwork.com/product-category/schools/st-francis-and-st-stephens/> is our uniform provider.
Shorts for under dresses and skirts may be purchased through Primary <http://primary.com>.
Pre-K and Kindergarten
No uniforms are required; however, a dress code should be observed. Students must be dressed modestly and appropriately for the weather. Clothing should not contain inappropriate graphics or messaging. Shorts should be worn under dresses and skirts, as our early childhood students are frequently sitting on the floor or engaged in active play. When shorts are worn during the warmer months (September, May, and June) they should be of a long enough length that when arms are relaxed at the student’s sides the shorts are as long or longer than the lowest point where the student’s fingertips reach.
